Thanks...I wonder why? I think all the rain made them grow so big..it certainly wasn't the sunshine!

Very pretty Sandra, I am sure it was all the rain that made them grow.

Those are so pretty. I've grown cosmos for the very first time this year - just white ones, and they've been incredibly rewarding and relatively easy. I think I shall some more next year, and I love the colour of these, Bloomer. Do you remember what variety they were?

I found the packet,Gattina..they are called Sonata mixed..and said to grow to 2 feet..which they certainly do,and some of them are taller than that.. ! The ones I had a few years ago were a smaller variety....
Wow,that's big,Violeteyes..hope they flower for you soon..all mine were later this year ...

I bought some shortish ones one year, they were lovely, so imagine my excitement when they self seeded everywhere. Unfortunately they grew massive, about 4 feet high and almost as wide, I don't know what variety they where, but they certainly outgrew their welcome lol. These are lovely:-)

Love these flowers, Sandra ... I sowed a pack of 'Sonata Dwarf' variety and have to report they are fabulous ... gorgeous colours and not too tall ... :o)
Ba, a couple of years ago the Cosmos here were just as you described yours, but all foliage and hardly any flowers ... cutting them down was hard work as the stems were so thick ... :o(

Lol,Ba..and thanks..you must have dug some good stuff in your soil that year..How lucky they self seeded though...
I've never had any do that..
..........
Thanks Shirley..I think those were what I had,the first time I grew them..a freebie packet on 'GardenersWorld 'magazine..I remember how nice they were :o)
