Hylocereus undatus - Dragon Fruit, Pitaya Flowering

Hylocereus undatus - Dragon Fruit, Pitaya Flowering (Hylocereus undatus)

This is an extremely common fruit grown here in San Diego, CA. It typically grows up into trees. The fruit is very high in anti-oxidants. The flowers are very large more than 12in/31cm wide. Photo taken Aug. 3, 2012 under my large Norfolk Island tree (Araucaria heterophylla).
