This young blackbird is a Grackle fledgling, just learning to fly. He feels pretty secure in the hedge, with the parents nearby.

The name rather suits them, Bonkers, as when they are trying to impress a mate they do a lot of sky pointing (pointing their bill straight up) and puffing up their feathers to double their size, emitting this sound which can only be likened to an old rusty hinged door screeching as it is opened & closed, lol!
