You are right, Melchisede. holubom means pigeon.
This photo was made in one monastery in Sicily, the fresco was too high to be in the viewing angle of common visitors. Too high, fading and small. Yet very strong message in it for me...

Yes - I can understand that, Katarina. Thank you for the information (and the picture). It is interesting that it is so small - as if it had a private significance for someone.

Not so small, but compared to other parts (arches, pillars), it was small.

Yes, I see that now, from the size of the pigeon. These things have an extra beauty when they are faded, don't they?

Well, the fresco was not painted like that (faded), so shoud be preserved, lol. It just had special meaning for me - people often ignore things, which are just not enough ostentatious. Or, if you want, we spent lives looking for guardian angels and they are standing behind us. Just they are in a different space, so we do not see them.:))))
Hope I am not too philosophical. Usually I am, as I am getting old, lol.

In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with getting philosophical! We would get a big surprise if we could see frescoes in their original state - old ruins would be very gaudy!

That's very interesting, Katarina. I understand that "holubom" is "dove". Where is this? What is the context of the madonna?
Another lovely song!
