It has managed to survive the onslaughts of our cat, although I did have to cover it at one point!!!!

Pam, I protect mine with an upturned cheap wire hanging basket. Place it over the top of the plant just as the new shoots are starting to show in spring time. It stops the cats from squashing it altogether. They do still sniff and chew but it seem to stop the rolling in it.
