This very large shrub has many hundreds or thousands of beautiful flowers. It's native to Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Sri Lanka, India and China. Photo taken in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. on Aug. 21, 2012.

This one would just not make it outside in the SF Bay Area. It likes hot and dry. It especially needs dry, warm weather during winter. It's very widely grown in Hawaii.
