Great photo, what is it?

Great question DRC! My thoughts exactly. I think we have another Pimpernel on GoY - please please please no spider pics :-D Is it just my eyes or does he/she have a white curly/hairy beard like bit at the back of the head???

I thought the same J. Yes I saw the white fuzzy bit and it reminded me of a nut when its gone off! Perhaps it has wings and this is the edges?

I cant remember whats its called now,it was on my geraniums last yr and i thought humbug lol i will post its name when i remeber lol

Well ive remembered at last!! its a summer chafer/may beetle,cockchafer was suggested to me but i knew that didnt sound familiar :O) so ive just been googling and when i read may beetle i knew that was it lol
