Tricyrtis ishiana

Tricyrtis ishiana (Tricyrtis ishiana)

This is a Toad Lily with a difference - in addition to the pendulous bell shaped blooms it also has an arching (instead of upright) growth habit.

Has a reputation for being a bit tricky, but given enough shade and moisture it seems easy enough............

Is it a vine?

No - it's herbacious. It would make a cracking vine if nature were ever inclined that way!

Winter is always hit and miss with 'em Kasy. I've lost supposedly hardy ones whilst the more tender ones survived...........
