Agastache Summer Glow

Agastache Summer Glow (Agastache)

Why do major GCs never label their plants as tender? Picked this up yesterday at the GC - labelled 'Herbaceous Perennial' - dies back in winter and re-grow in spring. On checking before planting today - I find that it is listed as Tender in frost/Half Hardy!!!!!!!! That is so b****y annoying.....rant over.

I agree Scottish. I think they're only interested in taking our money ...

Lovely looking now though. I so agree with you! The other thing I find annoying is how GC's in one area sell stuff that is not suitable for that area! Have been caught out with that in years gone by. Know better now, but it annoys me to see stuff being sold that would not live in a local garden.

HB - I've no greenhouse or cold frame so will probably try cover it with some straw and leave it to fend for it's self.
It's a money thing Hywel- I agree!!!!
Paul - it's not the first time - and probably won't be the last!!
Teresa - I have found that a particular 2 major stores have a habit of doing this. They obviously just ship them in bulk and distribute UK wide. I do most of my garden shopping at a local independant nursery - so get good advice from them. It's usually the impulse buys from elsewhere when I get caught out. I should really take 30 seconds out and check via the internet on my phone before I do buy. Obviously not just a UK thing then!
