What a fantastic tree ...

Beautiful tree Hywel. One of my favorite on our preoperty. It has so much "character".We will have it trimmed this year that it would not damage the house in the winter storm.

Pitty about that, but you must make sure your property is safe.

Just a little trim on the top. They grow very very fast .

how old?

I can only speculate. They grow very fast here. Perfect climate for bigleaf maple. It looks ancient .... I doubt it is more than 200 years .

Wonderful tree the saying goes if you reach up into the bows of the tree with your arms you live a long time.
