I don't know what's going on underground, but this plant is a lot broader this year

Hang on - I went to a talk about this earlier this month. Begonias have tubers (which get bigger each year), crocosmias have corms which die and then a new one grows.
I think that was the difference between a corm and a tuber. Is there a botanist on the house to confirm this?

When I said ( technical term lol ) it was because I dont Know what the little things at the top which fall to make new plants were called. Off to get some books out to try and find out :o)))

No problem - I get it a lot.
Something I was told recently - if you can't remember the name of a plant, call it an amnesia and everyone will think that's what it's called! :-)

I'll try not to forget that lol :o)))

Mine spring up everywhere, they have bulbils at the top of the plant late autumn which drop if not collected and grow in spring to make a large clump :)
