This is a small, young King Kong Fishtail Palm in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. Photo taken Oct. 4, 2012.

Yes, it does. It grows into a huge monster in about 20 or 30 years, though. The fronds can grow to become almost 30ft (10m) long.

Here's a pic of the largest one at the San Diego Zoo. This photo has people walking under it for scale. You can really see how immense this palm can grow.
