Out in the woods the other day I was surprised to see no colour change on the ferns yet. Quite glad actually, I can wait a little while longer for winter!

I haven't seen a white one like that before Lori it would look stunning against a red or brown leafed shrub , mine are still very green in the garden Karen !

This is Jack Frost's handywork....the ferns all have their own winter preparations...the sensitive fern down by the stream turn a golden yellow then wither away...the osmunda turns white or yellow and the ostrich ferns remain green and flourish in the extra moisture and cool temps of autumn, the bracken turns yellow and sweetly redolent...then they lay themselves down as a mat for the snow!

Thats very attractive My Osmunda does not do that will have to check which one I have.
