this was taken last Sunday morning when we were heading for Ottawa...that was a spectacular drive and I would have had plenty of time to stop and take photos except that we had Thanksgiving dinner in the trunk and needed to get there presto!

All the leaves are down now, Amy...except the oaks and beech. The oaks range from a deep dark red to orangey bronze on the rocky hills and the beech are a bright yellow/bronze along the sides of the valleys. Between here and Denbigh there are long rocky ridges which are nearly unlogable (??) and the oaks are gnarled and ancient..a wondrous sight. So much moss covered granite...must post a pic of one such outcropping on the way to Griffith. I call it Sugar Loaf. lol.
