That's an Acer Bloodgood next to an Apple tree. A large leafed Rheum palmatum stands to the right of a mix of perennials, including Hakonechloa macra and three clumps of Gillenia trifoliata which never fails to perform no matter where I plonk it.

Thanks so much Drc. Am about to go out and photograph my Amelanchier Lemarckii before the wind blows away those beautiful crimson leaves.
