The boundary fence on the right is the one I have always known for the last 19 years, unlike the new monstrosity that is there now and ruined all that boundary's
plantings

The wire and post fence is the boundary, not the arched fencing you can see in this photo, which is the boundary fence to another property adjoining my neighbour's. The willow tree is massive and is in my neighbour's garden and the crown sits over my property, which I don't mind as it adds something to my garden in the way of dappled shade under which bluebells grow in the spring, but he is in the process of taking this down too, and as the main branches come over my land, this is posing a problem to him now that the 6-7 foot fence in in place...I am just waiting to see how he is going to tackle this, and whether I am going to come home one day from work to find he has been on my land to remove it! I think although I have decided to plant against the new fence, I should inform the police to keep an eye on my property as I haven't given him permission to come onto it, neither has he asked and has already taken down my old greengage I don't trust him.

That's a pity your neighbour is making so many changes without acceptable discussions with you.

Yes, you'll need more plants which are okay in shade.

If you click on S at the base of any GoY page, you'll see some ideas in GoYpedia for Shade plants.

He shouldn't come onto your land to do work without your permission Dixie , if he had any good manners at all he would have been round to introduce himself and at the same time outline his plans with you to see how you felt about it all , TT you know all about bad neighbours don't you ?
