Do they eat acers? Or chilli plants?

No, generally they do not eat acers, they do not eat fuzzy leaves and anything poisonous. But the little ones will taste everything. For the longest time they did not touch my dahlias but this year they leveled them. I had to protect them. They do not eat herbs (but rabbit will).

Thank you Terra. They are lovely animals. Just little too hungry all the time. This one and her mom live on our property.

So nice to see them close up and know they are safe :o)

They are definitely safe here Terra, just chased around a bit. I believe that they are creatures of habit and I would love to teach them to stay away from the flower bed. They have another 8 acres around after all. But I think it is just too tempting :-)

You've made the flower bed too tasty ! ;o)

How lovely to have the beauty of nature come right into your garden. When I lived in England, our home was on top of a hill & on the edge of a common. We used to occasionally get little deer creeping timidly into our garden. I can't remember their name, but they were a very small breed ....maybe the name was something like munchkin deer?

Hi Dwyllis. Ours are creeping timidly into our garden too :~) These are big, stately deers.
They are not very intimidated by me. They just stand there and watch me . I can clap and yell at them as much as I want but they will leave on their own term.

was it a muntjac dwyllis?

That's it ....Muntjac! Thank you StickiT. Munchkin ...lol. I knew it started with M. Very small & cute. It was always a delight to see them timidly enter the garden. I hope they are protected & not hunted.

I like the name munchkin better!

I don't think they are protected but I don't know, I heard they can do a lot of damage in a garden.
