Commercial fishing at our bay.

Commercial fishing at our bay.

You can see the net circle of this boat. I have also noticed a coast guard ship. I think the competiton got little out of hand.
I believe they are fishing primarily for salmon. The report says that there are plenty of salmons this year. They fish day and night.

How lovely to be able to sit on your deck & have that beautiful panoramic view laid out before you.

It is too cold to sit on the deck at this time Dwyllis, but we do in the summer time.

Yes we do, Bampy. They do not live here but they do transit through here. Sure sighting would be about 50k from here. In open ocean environment.

Wow ! intelligent awsome creatures to be sure & what a photo opportunity eh?
I prefer to call them Orka, does'nt sound quite so scary as 'Killer Whale' does it?
Apart from the fact that they are the largest member of the dolphin family & not a whale at all!
But whats in a name when your paddling your canoe/kayak out in open water & you end up in the middle of a 'pod' - - - - suddenly we're not talking peas are we ??? :-O

Hi Bampy, Under "normal" condition, Orcas are not dangerous to human in the wild. At least that is the believe. But they do change their behavior in captivity. And yes, they are very intelligent and photogenic..
