This Bougainvillea grows unlike any other variety. It has stiff upright stems. It's not a vine. Photo taken in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. on a nice warm 80ºF (27ºC) day, on Nov. 13, 2012.

Loved the bougainvillea that used to grow in the tropical house at the U. How I would love to have a proper conservatory.

The best one to grow in containers is Bougainvillea 'Rosenka' it can stay very small and flower in pots.

Thanks for that, D1~ I'm going to write that in my "diary"... (a file of loose paper..where I scratch down details..or items of interest.) Still dreaming about a conservatory though! ;-)

It's not my favorite variety, but unusual for a Bougainvillea variety.
