whose fortress was it Kat? Is there a story to go with it?

28 Nov, 2012

Where was this taken, Katarina. Looks as if it could be France maybe? Having another MRI scan in a few days & will see how that goes. I actually think there has been a slight improvement, but worried my foot is dropping, as feels very heavy & hard to draw up now, & can not bring it up very far.but pins & needles have mainly stopped, which is good.

Spis Castle in Slovakia?.

Dwyllis@hi, I am sorry, I would always prefer to cheer people up, but this is not sign of improvement. This is sign of more severe damage of the nerve root - so please, if possible, contact yout physician. Operation is inevitable if your foot starts to drop. I am sorry to say that, but it is better to go for OP earlier then later. Goood luck.

Klahanie@you are absolute winner of the quiz. Tram ta ta taaaa! :)
Yes, this is Spis (pronounciation Spish), Slovakia, the largest medieval castle in Eastern Europe. It was built in the 11.-12.th centuries as crussader´s castles, e.g. was able to accomodate inhabitants from surrounding regions for several months. I think this castle was never conquered, Sticki, but please check for more details the link

Hi Kat .. Good pic :o)

Great to have all that info on this castle/fortress Katarina. i have a great interest in history, but i don't have much knowledge on Eeuropean history. Change of subject ....The way it works here is that I will have this MRI on Monday evening, & will see the musculoskeletal specialist again next Friday, so in 8 days time. He will then do a report on this new scan & arrange for me to see the ortho surgeon, so could be another week or so more before I get in to see him. However, if the specialist thinks I need urgent surgery, I am sure he could arrange for me to see the surgeon much quicker. Actually, I am not having as much pain as I was, & the pain is passing more quickly ...it used to last for hours, whereas now it comes & goes throughout the day, so I think that must be an improvement. The specialist did not check my foot strength this time. He just checked out the leg raise. It may not be dropping, but certainly feels heavy & hard to bring up ...lots of pain still in ankle & across foot & in shin, but other pain in leg seems to be settling better now. Thank you for taking an interest Katarina. I appreciate it.

Wonderful castle, Katarina. Its defensive site reminds me a bit of Dunstanburgh (one of my favourite places) but it is more impressive.

Sticki@here was filmed last British version of the film "Lion in Winter" and also some scenes from Dragon Heart and Last Legion. I think they all were British films, weren´t they.

I'm not surprised they use that venue for films, those titles certainly sound British but I haven't seen them.

I have seen Dragon Heart twice. Last Legion or Lost Legion? Either way, I have seen it too quite recently. Wow ...Lion in Winter ...I saw the original with Kathrine Hepburn many years ago. Was not aware that they had made a new version. I will look out for that.
