What a glorious morning

What a glorious morning

I'm very lucky to have this view from the back bedroom window. Not the scene most people would imagine of Essex.

Such lovely colours - it could almost be an African scene. Love the seasonal avatar, too, Paul! Ho! Ho! Ho!

Thanks Gattina........it's my job in December(Santa) as there's not much gardening to do!

PLEASE tell me the beard is really yours!!!!!

That's tricky Gattina.......I don't want to ruin any illusions(I'll just say it's REAL hair)

My OH is a dead ringer for Santa Claus, but he never lets his beard grow really full and bushy. A great disappointment to me and hundreds of Italian children. We once pretended, when we were in a pizzeria, and a little girl came up and stared at him, that he really was "Babbo Natale". She got incredibly excited and rushed off to tell her parents, and then came back to our table with her baby brother to stand staring. It got a bit uncomfortable after a while, but hey, you've got to keep the magic going, haven't you? Lucky she didn't expect him to hold a conversation or go "Ho, Ho, Ho!" in Italian!

Lovely!
Alas, mine's made of Yak hair. Not human hair! I had it made this year as ,for the last 3 years I've been doing corporate and private events as Santa. The shop bought wig/beards sets really weren't realistic enough so I invested £400 on this set hand made this year!
Off to go get ready now as I have a booking at 4.30 this afternoon and then another one tonight!!!Tonight's one is a charity event but I get paid for this afternoon's one, which helps make ends meet as no income in December as a gardener!

I'll put up a photo of me in full outfit in a moment!

I shall be waiting with bated breath..... From the thumbnail picture, that looks to be one incredibly beautiful beard, and I can imagine you really look splendid. Worth the investment, would you say? OH has a red and white Santa hat which he wears out and about round about now, and gets quite a few quizzical looks: I very nearly bought him a proper Father Christmas outfit this year, but when I looked on Amazon, the ones I could have afforded were rubbish, and the really good ones were astoundingly, eye-wateringly expensive. So just the wellies, then.

This suit was nearly £200 about 3 years ago)it's velvet style.....but yes, worth while because I get quite a few corporate bookings. As you say, the cheap suits and beards really aren't very impressive. But, I buy lots of other bits and pieces on line.Ie 80/90 year old specs which I have to be very careful with as they're very fragile, plus an old brass trunk key which I tell the children is the key to the Elf's workshop. That always gets a reaction, particularly from the mums and dads!
I love every minute of it!!
