28-12-2012 - the day I finally succeed in identifying it! Yippee!

Yes, not every bloom is a poly, but the colours are so nice. I thought it could be PANACHE, but after looking at many pictures on the internet I am in doubt.

This could be Ambrosia Sundayhaus. I found a list:
Bobby Baxter's Polymerous Daylily Database, which can be found at: http://daylily.net/polytepals/index.asp

Wylie, I've checked it - what a swell database! It looks almost identical to Ambrosia Sundayhause! Mine is just a bit more pinkish - maybe if I take a picture during late afternoon and I put the pictures next to each other one can say for sure. Thanks for this link!

Did you see the offspring of this, Leprecahaun's Rainbow? A fantastic double.

I checked it just now - it is fantastic, Wylie. I should try this one's pollen on a double, that's for sure.

Thank you for your kind comment, Gardengadgit. Yes, I am still growing them, it is kind of an obsession (grin). It is winter now - here in South Africa, I can't wait 'till spring to see some new seedlings in bloom. I am struggling with a mole in the garden - it does not eat the daylilies, but my Jack russell does the hunting (or try too) and is digging up all my plants...grrrr.....

If you go look at the buds on this plant, you can see which will be normal and which have the 4 or even 5 sepals. Love the colours on this.
