Does anyone know which bird this is? I see it quite often in the garden and we see them everywhere hovering over the hedgerows and fields.

Yes I would agree Klahanie, searching for small birds, mice etc.

Lol. It is hawk, common in Slovakia, very ofte in winters it comes closer to human settlings. Be careful if you have hens or rabbits.

Thanks for that and I thought the same a Sparrow Hawk. It does usually come closer to the house the colder it gets and when I saw this one I also found a pile of Great Tit feathers. I have alot of bird feeders so alot of birds feeding which is probably what attracts it to come so close to the house.

Looks like one of the smaller hawks. Do not see the colors clearly to identify which one. Sparrow hawk maybe?
