It is looking good and a great contrast with the cyclamen and ivy also the brown windblown leaves.

the fern is under the beech tree and I dont remove all the fallen leaves as they make a good mulch.

there's not ivy or at least there shouldnt be i spent days clearing it all out :o) but there is a silver lamium, an epimedium and an ajuga in the same area.

Sorry to give you a heart attack. I thought the green leaves -top left - were ivy. My mistake and I am as relieved as you. It is on my list of 'never ever' plants in the garden. I thought the leaves looked like beech. They make a great mulch and their coppery hues are a perfect foil for the green and cream of the other plants.

yes I agree . there is lots of native ivy around, though I do have an area left wild for the birds and insects to utilise.
