i just got one of those grid basket type feeders but at the moment i cant fix it onto the main pole

possibility but would be better if i could remove the top attachment from the pole and put this one underneath, i have another option ~ to put a piece of cane into the pole and screw the new bracket onto that ~ not sure if that makes sense?

might have another go if the snow eases off a bit ~ been topping up the bird table ~ that has a roof on it ~ everything else gets covered in minutes!
