Lower Slaughter is about a mile and half along the road (A429) towards Stow on the Wold from here. It is a very pretty place - not as big as Bourton, but still gets loads of visitors.
We had a super meal there a few years ago on my huband's 70th birthday, at The Manor Hotel. VERY NICE MEAL! - but not cheap!! 'Once in a while place' that is!!!

I do believe the Pudding Club is in Mickleton, but I have never been there.
Well I think I have been through Mickleton, but not the Pudding Club!
Not exactly sure how to get to it from here - I forget!, it is such a long time ago since we were that way.
I've a feeling it might be towards Evesham or that way, from Bourton.

So pretty. I would really like to live in the Cotswolds......sigh!

This was taken a day or two just before it snowed Meadowland.
I'm glad I went out then, it was a lovely sunny day, but very cold - made my nose run!!!! :-)))
We have a lot of snow now but at least we can get down to the village if need-be.
Luckily we did a big shop on the Wednesday before this lot arrived!!
Does this weather affect the PC? I wonder if that is why mine keeps freezing (ha!!) on & off!! Sorry about the pun!

I have to say - it is a lovely part of the country Karensusan, but I am sure Scotland has it's beautiful places as well. I have never been but have friends there & see lots of pictures off course.
Cotswolds is a very expensive place to buy property though!!
If we hadn't bought our house in 1968-9 (I just forget exactly!!), we certainly wouldn't be able to afford it now!
A lot of celebrities come to live in the area all around the Cotswolds.

Homebird,
shallow river, big village green, stone houses = loads and loads of tourists in the Summer!!! ..... and quite a few in the Winter too!!
Children love to paddle in the river (not winter of cousrse!!!!!).
I used to paddle there myself as a child, so I haven't fallen far from the nest!
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Visited here several times and it's a lovely place. Super little cottages, all with different things in the windows.

I think all the world and his wife have visited Bourton at sometime Lindak!!
Wherever we go, even on holiday abroad - mention we live in Bourton on the Water and most people say - "Oh I know that place, or, oh yes we have been there"!!
It has expanded over the years of course, from the small close village that it was originally! Lots more houses and an industrial park on the outskirts!

Hi shirl. I toured the Cotswolds in a Renault traffic van @ the end of the 80's. I visited B o t W at about 5am & walked all round in peace & quiet. I was leaving as the 1st of the other tourists arrived! Also visited Upper & Lower Slaughter.I was sketching in the churchyard of L.S & baby robin came & perched on my head to the distress of it's parent who called it off. Lovely county.I'm not surprised that you have never wanted to move. I can see a few snowflakes drifting down, so looks like we're in for some more.I'm still in bed.:-)).

Don't blame you Feverfew. Best place this weather!!
We have had more snow in night, but I think it has stopped this morning 10:40 a.m.
Husband cleared all the paths yesterday and now they are covered again!! Why don't we just hibernate?!!
The Cotswolds are a lovely area, but there are such a lot of beautiful places all over U.K.
Early morning is the best time to have a wander around Bourton on the Water, especially in Spring and Summer, but I don't do it very often these days!
Glad you enjoyed it. You were priviliged to have baby robin settle on you! :)
