Hello Terra, yes there was a flock of 9 Fieldfare's that I was watching going around our front gardens today. Luckily one neighbour had a large Cotoneaster against the wall with berries on and they stayed all afternoon eating them..

I thought at first this was a Thrush...but now I'm not so sure.
You're right TT, but don't forget fresh water too as it often freezes over.

Just seen your reply to TT, sorry Nanjo, I've never come across Fieldfares.

They are part of the Thrush family Waddy, I had no idea what it was at first until I put a pic on Fb and I got the answer :-)

Nice that the birds stayed around so long ... yes... important to put out water... I have two bird baths in my back garden.

I was surprised they stayed..they flew off into a tree each time someone walked by but soon returned. I must have looked like a Peeping Tom as I was looking at them thro' binoculars.. he he

I guess they must have been very hungry Nan, I hope you'll be able to feed them.

They were after the berries on my pyracanthas, but i don't think they got many, the blackbirds have eaten nearly all of them. I was spying thru binoculars as well!

Hi Nancy...
the birds are so grateful for food, aren't they, during these chilly days ... :o)
