we had a delivery of those few weeks ago at work. What I've learnt about it is that it is a recent introduction (2012) but I am afraid you won't get any seed of it Katarina. It is a sterile variety. but hey - there are different methods of propagating, lol.
But I really like that particular one - is is always so difficult to get a good picture of a hellebore.

Thank you, Kasia, for interesting information. Yes, I noticed, that something is dropping from the flowers but when I checked it, it didn´t contain seeds.
I think Helleborus as forest plant can be propagated also by cutting into few parts after several years (do not know the exact term, but in a same way is propagated Astra sp.) Or what else ?
10 Feb, 2013
you're welcome Katarina.
That method of propagating is called division. Something I will be doing to lot of my plants soon:)

I just checked other website - and it said it is possible to grow it from seeds as well.
10 Feb, 2013
I do not see any seeds. I must agree with your previous comment on this.
10 Feb, 2013
but I have an impression you keep it indoors. Am I right?
10 Feb, 2013
Yes, because the soil is frozen, so I cannot plant it now.

so why don't you try to help with polination? pretend you are a little bee collecting a nectar? lol.
get a little brush and try to help the nature:)

Because these days I do not feel like Creator...:)

I know the feeling Katarina... grey and cloudy and raining - even I am loosing my typical cheerfulness:(
11 Feb, 2013
It is not raining here! :) We had snow yesterday.
Kasy, go and see that film Pi and His Life.
It´s great to see if you feel weary.
11 Feb, 2013

I just need bit of sun to cheer me up. and bit of warmth... ;)
11 Feb, 2013
I enclosed just now a photo for those, who don´t have sunny weather...

I have just seen "Life of Pi" collecting awards at the BAFTAs. It looks a fantastic film (in every sense!)
11 Feb, 2013
What is BAFTAs, please?
11 Feb, 2013
They are the awards given by the British Association of Film and Television Arts. The film categories are much the same as the Oscars, and there are television awards as well. "Life of Pi" won Best Cinematography and Best Special Visual Effects. I think it has 11 Oscar nominations, which is pretty impressive.

Perfect. I am especially proud, that the son of my friends was in the staff who made this film. Actually his parents recommended me the film :))
I know from them, that when film had premiere in Thailand, all government including President came to see it ( the director of the film is from Thailand).

It does look amazing - the effects are seamless. It is very difficult to realize that the tiger is not actually in the boat with the boy.
13 Feb, 2013
What he told us, they had several tigers during making that film, e.g. the film wasn´t made with the same tiger.
13 Feb, 2013
No - and some of the tiger shots were computer-generated, though obviously from filming a real tiger. They showed a shot of part of the filming. The boat wasn't on the sea, and the tiger wasn't in the boat. Truly wonderful. And so much of it is now taken for granted because film-making has progressed so far just in the last decade.
13 Feb, 2013
Yes, I thought they were all computer tricks, that´s why I asked.
13 Feb, 2013
I think the computer work must take hours and hours. It must be very intricate. I can't even type a comment without having to correct errors before I post it!
13 Feb, 2013
Me too.
