Interesting swallowtail caterpillar

oh i liked him! looks like a cuddly caterpillar to me!

Ha ha Sticki , but I have found it interesting (huge). Interesting markings. The leaf is of an avocado tree.

Is it a chrysallis of some kind , Klahanie ?
I wonder what the adult is like .

I have no idea what it is Driad. It would be interesting to know what it will turn into, Sticki.
It was over 2 inched long . It had also interesting markings around the eyes. I will try to google, maybe I can find it.

Oh Sticki, very similar just different markings and he did not bother to show me his antenas. You found it very quickly. The one in the video is sort of cute.
Tiger Swallowtail they say. I did not know (think) that swallowtails are so large.

there were one or two swallowtails on google images that looked similar ~ some had the markings on. one photo looked exactly the same but annoyingly it wasnt named!

A swallowtail is a good start. I will wonder around the internet as well to see if I can spot it. Now that I know it is not a slug of sort I like it little better :-)
Do you still have snow around?

yes there is about 2 inches of it all over my garden but the roads are ok, its not freezing ~ feels cold enough though!
