Clematis 'Duchess of Edinburgh'....strange

Is this a clematis bud Moti??

Yes Janey....I haven't a clue whats happening, there are another 6-8 buds as well..its C.'Duchess of Edinburgh'...lovely white double flowers...

Yes Janey...group 2....I usually prune hard around now, i think i will still do that and hope for more flowering stems later, its against a fence, fairly sheltered i suppose..

Now isn't that peculiar? I don't think I could bring myself to cut them off!

I know karen....I thought the frost would have seen them off, but they keep swelling....

Cut all ours back a few weeks ago, always forget some though......

There aren't many stems on this as it is....Im off work next week, i'll do it then, weather permitting...:>)
