Front Garden coming back to life.

Front Garden coming back to life.

I have been out for an hour this morning, just tidying and turning the soil over so wanted to show you all how the garden is starting to recover. Slowly but surely it is getting its Spring coat on.

Thanks Annella, it does now it has been weeded and the soil turned and the path swept and the dog removed from causing chaos. lol. Had to lock him in as he chased the broom whilst I was sweeping off to walk him now.

Hi Bilbo - Goodmorning to you too. Ground has dried up considerably, it is surprising how quickly it recovers. I too have a muck collection going on ready for when I have chopped back the roses. OH keeps bringing it in from a friend with horses. It is in plastic bags at the minute so hopefully it will have broken down a little for me to put around the rose trees when I have pruned them. What seeds have you planted out?

It's nice just to get out there and have a wee tidy up isn't it. Just removing the debris makes everything look so much better!
I've noticed that a few areas of the borders are really quite dry and if it wasn't going to be so cold I would give it a bit of water. A nice SHORT rainfall would be nice!

Some lovely hellebores and black grass there Mum! :) Scottish, I was just saying the same....garden borders are quite dry right now, but like you, can't face going out to water them! Probably just as well, as the water would probably freeze over night anyway and the roots wouldn't enjoy that.

We are still quite damp but being clay it doesn't dry out quite so quickly as when the sun shines on it. Definitely no need to water, sticky soil still.

Exactly what I was thinking Karen!
Good that your soil is still holding onto some moisture OO - but no so good come summertime!

Well if we get a summer like the last one it will not need watering. That was a big bonus for me last year, the plants loved all the rain and I hated it cos I couldn't get outside for water everywhere. lol. Never happy are we. lol.

You have been busy Bilbo I haven't even thought about planting seeds yet! I am still hibernating, we had snow flurries again last evening. I was up in Wakefield yesterday, (Middlestown) to finish off clearing up at daughters house which is to go on the market. We had snow on our way up and on our way back. Not much just enough to make you cringe. lol. Youngest daughter works in Barnsley and I went to college in Barnsley, many moons ago. lol. Love Yorkshire and all the places around and about. Would move back to Yorkshire tomorrow if I had a win on the lottery. lol. Suppose then I shall be in Lincolnshire for the rest of my days cos I cannot envisage a win on Lottery JUST YET!!, lol. Hope you are successful with all your planting, enjoy. :O)

Next time I come over I think I shall pay a visit to (think it is) Shelley G.C. now the views from that restaurant are spectacular. I will let you know Bilbo. Although I doubt now that I shall be over there in the near future. House going on the market next weekend.
