A real bargain !

Wow what a purchase, excellent!

They certainly do grow quick/big,.....but what a bargain!!
I do love a bargain!!

A bargain indeed we have the variegated one which is much slower growing.....

I've got one of these planted at the back of my Arbour - it was the only one I thought would grow quick enough to cover it. I will need to be on top of pruning!

Are you sure this is Aucuba japonica? To me it looks like Prunus laurocerasus. I have Aucuba in the garden, several shrubs and they have different shape and also different leaves.

Thanks Katarina....I think you're right! I thought it was the plain green var. of my spotted laurel, but I think it is indeed the prunus, now that I've looked at some more pics! Off to sort it......

Katarina well spotted, we have the variegated one of this too, and it is a slower grower......

I have this monster in my garden, planted by the previous owners. Several have been removed now but the remaining two do a great job of fence and neighbour cover.

Probably the only thing it's good for!

I actually like the scent when it comes into flower, it's very heady in the bottom garden and smells like honey :o)

Lovely...I bet mine doesn't flower in that shady spot....but we'll see.
