Hate to bore you but I was told the reason we stare at the living flame is that deep in our minds is a box which takes us back to our caveman/woman days. It gave us comfort and security and thats where we all came from in the beginning. Thats all there was to do, wondering when someone was going to invent the TV etc. Sorry.

Love the chiminea, do you put it to good use on cool evenings, I love having a fire in ours. I snuggle up close with my back to it while having a cup of coffee or hot chocolate. We also like to just sit in front of it and watch the flames burn down it's almost hypnotizing.
