Jacarandas

Aren't they amazing, what a fantastic colour Klahanie!

They are very beautiful this time of the year, Janey... but also very messy.

Are they blooming right now? The Jacaranda trees here won't start to bloom for another 3 weeks.

My very large Jacaranda is starting to loose it's leaves. I have to sweep every day...then when the flowers come I still have to sweep every day! It's so worth it, though! LOL! :>)

I might be allergic to them. My allergies got worse when they started to bloom.

That's horrible! I know they attract a lot of bees, so they must have a lot of pollen. I've never noticed an abundance of pollen, though...and my tree in the front yard is 50ft tall with 35ft spread.

Hope we will see a picture of your jacaranda in full bloom, or do you already have one from last year?

So many trees are starting to bloom now but jacarandas are dominant trees here so I attribute my discomfort to them

I have many pics of my Jacaranda tree on GoY. For some reason my tree blooms late. Unusually April or May. Many around start to bloom late March or early April. Last year many trees bloomed late; however, bloomed until August...which is very late. Jacarandas have another lighter bloom season here, which is late summer or early fall.

Thanks! My Jacaranda tree is not easy to photograph. Its location is blocked by the house on the west and from telephone/electrical wires (which look ugly) on the east.

I have lots of problem with the power lines in my photography Delonix. Very difficult to photograph a scenery these days. It is a hot button with me.

I can completely relate. Most of the older urban neighborhood of San Diego (where I live) have so many power lines, telephone poles. The newer neighborhoods have all telephone, electrical wires underground. It looks so much nicer.
