They, and the chickadees, are the most plentiful birds at the feeder this winter. The largest has to be the turkeys!

First day above 0C/32F today! Tree buds are starting to fatten even with at least 10 weeks before any green. It was our coldest consistant winter in 40 years, 4 months seldom above -17C/0F. I appreciated the higher temps in this new location on the hill so much. And had chickadee and redpoll all winter, with downy woodpecker still to shy to come to the house, but in the trees.

hang in there, Gt! We will be tapping maple trees pretty soon. The last three days have been warm and snow is melting. can't come soon enough for me.
