It is not in the full bloom yet but started to open flower here and there about 2 weeks ago.

That's terrific! I know Plumeria rubra is native to Mexico and the Caribbean.
Full bloom on Plumeria happens June - Oct. here in Southern California. The first flowers typically open in April and sometimes can bloom sporadically through January.
My largest Plumeria tree (in the ground) is 10ft (3.2m) tall.

Very nice. I love to find more fragrant flowering trees for our property on the Island....suitable for Pacific West coast that deer would not eat.
Can you grow Cananga odorata (Ylang Ylang) in San Diego? They use these flowers in Channel #5 perfumes...my favourite.
Of course I cannot grow it but I am buying an essential oil from this plant.

Yes, Cananga ordorata (Yalang Ylang) tree grow here pretty well, it just hates our hard water. I had a beautiful tree which died from the hard water. :>(
My previous neighbor has about 10 Ylang Ylang trees in his yard.
Here's a photo of the one I had.

Unfortunately, when I had my Ylang Ylang tree it never flowered! It's a very expensive tree, also!

There are few that look much like Celadine- but not quite it. I have an old Celadine and I notice that its leafs are larger and dna glossier then another I bought years later that has flat green colored leafs. The flowers also aren't quite as large as my first..but both plants are about the same height.

Stan:
Plumeria is highly variable. The leaves can be glossy or dull on the same variety like 'Celadine'.

Wow! They bloom the same time as in Hawaii.
This is Plumeria rubra 'Celadine' which is the most commonly planted variety. My trees/plants don't have new buds yet. I do have Plumeria trees which have the old last year's flower spikes...they will bloom earliest.
