These are lovely, but I have to make sure I keep them under control in my garden or they spread everywhere, to the detriment of other plants!

Hi Louisa thank you - I moved the bulbs last year so may not come up

I have two kinds , the natural wild English ones and then those not so nice Spanish ones ,I try to get rid of the Spanish ones but they multiply and spread much quicker than the English ones , I dig up loads they come up in all sorts of places :o(

Paul not being able to see your plant to well close up it looks as though it might be Spanish ,here is how you can tell ..
When the flowers are fully formed, the stalk of English Bluebells curves downwards to give its characteristic look. One why to help identify an English Bluebell is to see if all the flowers are on the same side of the stalk. As all the flowers on an English Bluebell are on the same side of the stalk, the effect of gravity pulls the stalk over into a beautiful curve.
When the flowers are fully formed, the stalk of Spanish Bluebells is straight. One why to help identify a Spanish Bluebell is to see if the flowers are all around the stalk. and the stalk is thicker than the English Bluebell, the effect of gravity does not operate in the same way it keeps it straight and doesn't curve with the weight of the flowers hanging on one side .
I can't be sure but it looks as if you have flowers all round your stalks ,I hope this helps :o)

Thanks Amy very much - I am sure they were the spanish ones

Your welcome Paul ,the Spanish Bluebells are considered thugs and are in danger of taking over from our natural wild Bluebells :o(

That's why I'm trying to eradicate mine, as soon as I see one coming up I dig it out!

I love them all! I have the native one....won't it be lovely to see these in flower again..not too long now....it's been snowing on and off all day here and heavy snow is forecast for tonight. But.....another 10 days and spring will be here with the equinox. After that, we will start to see a real change in the weather, I can feel it in my bones!

You had better be right K.........we have been trying to eradicate Spanish bluebells for 13 years now lol not easy!!

Thanks Amy - I never knew that - it is weird how little flowers can be more thuggish than the bigger shrubs. like forget me not !

Thanks Karen, I like your weather forecast - let's hope I have given up telling people it's gonna be crap lol
