There's a lot of this cactus which grow here in San Diego, CA. These are growing in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA. on March 25, 2013.

No, and I would guess they weigh at least a few hundred pounds. I have a small one in a pot and it's heavy.

I would hate to weed next to these, also. I have a barrel cactus in a pot which has weeds...and I'm going to have to take it out of the pot to get all the weeds out. It'll be very tricky!
Yes, those are flowers on the top and the fruit is actually edible.
