We can always hope that we are going to be back to something like decent weather. Still very cold down here. It most definitely could have been a fox. It has been a lovely day, but wasted for me my knee is very sore and swollen.

Hooray ... they make such a difference when they open fully. Is the green support for a Delphinium? Just being nosey ... :o)

The crocuses are a delight to see and were well worth waiting for. I have a feeling that the weather might just be about to get better for us at last. We have had 3 days of sunshine, and as long as I stayed out of the wind it was very pleasant indeed.

thanks Paul :O)
Shirley not a delphinium, but a rather large sedum which flops if not supported lol :O)
Wildrose, it is much better now it is drying out a little. These crocus were planted last autumn and for most of the winter have been stood in water, I thought I might have lost them all. So pleased I haven't :o)

No chance on lunch without coats here. I managed two hours' work in the garden today, but wearing four layers

My, it must be a HUGE Sedum ... lol!

It is a tall one, but this support is really too tall for it I need to get a smaller version of it, the sedum grows to about 18+ inches - it is the flower which is very heavy and flops, if you look back you will see some of it in the border from last October.

Looking lovely! I use these supports for my Aconitum. Could you not snip/hacksaw off the bottom tier - that would reduce the height but also add a bit of width nearer the base.

Good thinking, thank you - it will save my money :O)

ps Scottish, have received an e.mail back from Gardman they do not think that planter is available in your area, but I googled it and found that Amazon had some on their site. Hope you find it. :O)

Thank you - I'll take look!

Olive - you can divide sedums now if they are getting too large. Dig up the whole plant and chop it up - you can be really brutal with them, and they don't mind at all

thank you Andrew, it isn't too big plant wise but gets quite leggy flower size, think the trees shut out the light and hence why it grows so tall. One of the problems of being surrounded by an 80 acre wood - but would not swap it for anything just 'cos I love trees. lol :O)

They've came up well, haven't they?
Nice to see survivors. Lol.

I planted these ones last Autumn and that bit of border was inches deep in water I thought they would have rotted off but no they all survived, hope they keep on going. Thanks Mouldy :O)

I hope so, too, Olive, the thirsty wee so&so's. Lol.

AT LAST!!! Thank goodness! I've woken my garden up today. Scarified, edged, trimmed, watered and sorted out the pond. Now it looks like spring instead of winter. We had lunch outdoors without coats too! Tidied out the shed and took old stuff to the dump as well. There was a big hole dug under the fence, which might explain why my fountain was broken while we were away. I think the neighburs dog must have 'broken in'....funny that they didnt fill the hole though...could it have been a fox? perhaps....Anyway, I've replaced it with a little pouring earn from my other wall mounted solar feature, which was ruined by the frosts. Do you think that we can tentatively start believing that the worst is over now?!
