I really enjoyed myself today sewing my seed and repotting some plants in the greenhouse. It was lovely and sunny again today although it was quite cold still outside and the soil in the garden is still frozen in parts.

We had snow flurries again today ... am fed up with togging up in so many clothes just to leave the house! So far I have sown French and Runner beans for the plot, the seed potatoes are sprouting but far too cold to plant them out, same with the Onion sets. Not even started on any flower seeds yet and I have to say I'm really looking forward to a rise in temps before too long ... please!

I was watching Christine Walkden on the One show last week, and she said the soil should be 5% or over before planting..if you have a soil thermometer ,I guess it would be ok..I haven't ! I will wait a while yet,I think..

Someone on another programme I saw recently, suggested putting fleece over the soil too,H.bird..or to cover up anything recently planted..surely it can't last much longer? I know it has been said it is going to warm up soon,.I just hope we can trust them!
