The variegated leaves come after the flowers fade on this shrub. Grow in a sheltered position

HB - the species are easier to grow than this one. Stachyurus praecox and S. chinensis are the ones most commonly grown. Because of the variegation in the leaves, this one is slow and weak when a small plant.
