Chelsea BLUES?.....It will be the Chelsea flower show soon. I wonder how they will have coped with the weather and growing plants in time. Forsythia is a wonderful yellow that bursts forth to brighten the gardens.

That's great Linda!! Not long now . Yes underrated I feel , some let them grow out of control then blame it

They need to be trimmed before end of june so that the new shoots mature for the flowers.
15 Apr, 2013
thanks Linda I'll do that

My granddad, bless him when he was alive, used to let me garden with him and taught me that anything that flowers in the spring gets pruned middle of the Summertime and anything that flowers after that gets pruned November December time. Fruit trees and bushes are different according to their types.

That is great knowledge Linda - I am still forever learning by mistakes with gardening . My Great Grandad was a good gardener I am told

The other thing is that if you want your flowers to go on flowering, dead heading is the key. The only problem with that is it takes time.

yes sadly but best way I think

Let's hope that we get better weather this Summer Paul, so that we can enjoy sitting out in our gardens as well as gardening in them.
