Rhaphiolepis indica - Indian Hawthorn Flowering

Rhaphiolepis indica - Indian Hawthorn Flowering (Rhaphiolepis indica - Indian Hawthorn)

My Indian Hawthorn is blooming late this year. It typically blooms in Feb/Mar. This shrub can grow into a medium-sized tree here in San Diego and be cover with thousands of pink or white flowers. Photo taken Mar. 10, 2013.

Oh Delonix, I have this plant. It was decimated by deer last winter but I protected this this winter and it looks fine but I do not think it will bloom this year . I love it like this when it is in full bloom, but I think that it blooms much later in our climate. I have pictures of it on my personal webpage.

I saw your photo. It flowers very well there.

I know it's a very hardy shrub/tree. It's typically so floriferous you can't see the leaves on the plant. This plant is very floriferous on the other side of this plant which faces my neighbor's yard. I guess I'll have to take another photo. lol! :>)
