Found in our forest.
Picking a trillium is not a good idea as it prevents the leaf-like bracts from producing food for the next year. A plant takes many years to recover.
I usually do not do that but it thrives here on Vancouver Island and I was happy to be home from our long trip south.

Sometimes they will recover after many years. So maybe yours will too... with time.I think the one in the vase will not be there in the forest next year.

In some parts of the country it is illegal to pick them up Bik. Yes they are quite special.

That's a gorgeous flower! I can see why it would be illegal to pick them. :>)
