such a beautiful bird, i read in the paper today about one called Phil the Pheasant who terrorises the people in the garden that he visits, pheasants are usually very shy so im not sure what happened to this nasty Phil one!

That reminds me of the time the bosses dogs caught a hare. We cooked it and served it up to the boss and his wife as mugged hare courtesy of their dogs. They didn't laugh.....oops!

I didn't know they were different colours,H.bird..I assumed they all had the same markings..shows how much I know about them ..duh!

Beautiful photo HB. Introduced to Britain at least 900 hundred years ago ( so I've read), so by now regarded as a native species.

For such a common (in the countryside) bird, they never cease to astound me! One day I may capture them in glass!
