I noticed this arrangement in some castle garden in Austria. They mixed together globe and pyramidal shape of bushes and it gave the space a lot of dynamic. I liked it and so I planted them like this. Unfortunately, Picea glauca grows very slowly, so desirable optical effect will be visible in ten years, I guess. Now they are in my garden around 4 years.
