If my borders look a bit tatty it's because my OH is in the process of helping me with this years project. Yesterday he laid a new stone border edging for me along the sunny border and this back border. He took up some brick edging from around the birch tree so this border will flow into my new border.

The borders look a bit narrow, but perhaps it's difficult to tell on the photo? How wide are they? You seem to have got a lot planted in there, so they must be wider than they look.
