I was out in the garden today digging dandelions out of the lawn (moss?) and found lots of these have self seeded around it. I also found blue and also white wild violets and surprise surprise a wild orchid. There was a fairy ring plus daisies and dandelions, I'm starting a wildflower meadow by accident. OH mowed the lawn last weekend so they must all 'coorie doon' to allow the mower to go over without cutting them. it will be safe to leave these in your lawn should they do the same for you.

Thanks all - think my lawn is going to be full of germinated bird seed!! Now we don't have Oscar, I might start in the autumn and work towards improving it.
Sheila - you must work on that wildflower meadow. If you create a meadow then you can no longer call it a moss lawn ;)

We really like it as it is. The kids can run around and play on it when they visit.

There is nothing much like the bouncy feel of moss under the feet, is there :) I remember our little bit of lawn was like that when I was a child.
