How can I help it last long in water Petaltracey? I added some sugar to the water.

I bought it from the UK Bik. I found a gorgeous green Peony in Athens but I didn't buy it......I could kick myself now.

Most popular peony here too. Very attractive. Mine is only in bud . I have to wait for couple more weeks to see the "opening".

I always give them a long drink in a bucket first Alex! I make up a bucket of fresh water with flower food, then cut the stems with a slanting cut, and stand each stem upright in the bucket. Let them have a good drink for a couple of hours before arranging them in a vase of fresh water with flower food. (Although fresh water is fine too!) When changing the water I always cut the stems again. This helps with all cut flowers. When I worked in the florists shop, we would change the water twice a day during the summer months, (and also ensure there are no leaves beneath the waterline) this helped to keep the flowers in a good condition especially when the weather was hot and humid. :o)))
