Delphiniums /Allium

Cinders, I have never grown Delphs before....as you know, I'm not much of an herbaceous grower...but I was in M&S last week and they had three cracking plants..and I thought 'why not' so I brought them home and so far they are doing very well. I'm quite excited to see them flower now!

Karen if they like your soil they will not disappoint you. Just watch for the slugs and snails.

I really like them and I also like lupins but both plants are destroyed in our garden by slugs and snails so I have given up on them for the time being.

I know what you mean, but fortunately this clump seems to escape them.

I adore them but so do the slugs in my garden, the plants never get to flowering;0( yours look so healthy!

I am the slug exterminator at the moment...bottle of water-in slug killer every time I visit the GC. I used almost a whole bottle yesterday, in the area around the Delphs and lupins!

I must get some of that. Only have the pellets at the moment.

I need to be more consistent I think, in my campaign against them!

Wow those look healthy, I love them, not sure if we still have any left after last years slug and snail invasion....

I love Delphiniums... bought 3 new ones this year. Don't have too much of a problem with slugs, but might try the "killer" that Karen suggested. You've just given me an idea as to where to move my aliums to... too big where they are now... thanks Cinders :-))Added to favs so I won't forget.. the old grey mattter isn't what it used to be lol

I love them too, and these are a few years old now. don't have much trouble with slugs in this garden, but snails get everywhere. I pick them off and throw them over the fence into the river !! Good luck Gralew
